Learn to Swim with Swim Altus!

A picturesque landscape featuring mountains, a lake, and a clear blue sky.

Swim Altus was created by mother-daughter duo, Karen and Kara, who share a passion for both education and water safety. As lifelong educators, they understand how critical it is for every child to learn to swim—not just for fun, but as a vital life skill.

With decades of combined teaching experience, Karen and Kara bring patience, encouragement, and structure to every swimming class. Their goal is to make each swimmer feel confident, supported, and celebrated as they grow in the water.

Whether it’s your child’s first time blowing bubbles or they’re mastering their strokes, Swim Altus offers a nurturing environment where every swimmer can thrive and learn to swim safely.

As of the first week of June, Swim Altus has welcomed more than 100 swimmers ranging in age from 3 to 12 years old. After our first two weeks of classes, we have taken a close look at what is working best for our students and have decided to make some exciting changes that will allow us to better serve your swimmers moving forward.

Beginning with future sessions, we will be reducing class sizes to create a more personalized learning experience for every child. Smaller classes allow both instructors to work with fewer swimmers at a time, providing more individual attention and ensuring that each child is being taught at their current skill level while continuing to build confidence and improve their swimming abilities.

In addition, class lengths will be adjusted from 45 minutes to 30 minutes. With smaller groups, swimmers will be more actively engaged throughout the lesson, making the shorter class time both effective and age-appropriate while maintaining a high level of instruction.

Looking ahead to 2027, Swim Altus classes will also be divided into three age groups: ages 3–4, ages 5–6, and ages 7 and older. This change will allow us to better tailor instruction, activities, and expectations to each developmental stage.

We are confident these adjustments will create an even better learning environment and help every swimmer get the most out of their Swim Altus experience. Thank you for trusting us with your children, and we look forward to continuing to help them grow in both skill and confidence in the water.
